A new workout facility designed for women who only have 30 minutes in a day to get physically fit is coming to the Brewton area in a couple of weeks.
Waco-based Curves International, Inc., the world's largest fitness center franchise will open in Brewton on Monday, Nov. 28.
This is the first franchise for Hawsey, 34, who works as a nurse for a local home health agency. She said that she's used to helping people out.
Hawsey said that her friends in other towns went to Curves and had great results. She said she always wanted to go to one but there wasn't one close enough for her to travel to. After hearing that Curves was one of the best franchises, she said she went online and started getting information.
With the average person gaining three pounds a year, a reasonable workout regime that can fit into today's busy lifestyle of work and family is critical to help combat diabetes, osteoporosis, hypertension and other health risks that women can face.
The Curves Workout program, designed by Gary Heavin and his wife and co-founder, Diane, is utilized in all Curves locations.
The system allows women of all ages and fitness levels to perform all five of the components of a complete fitness program, combining strength and cardiovascular training through hydraulic resistance.
Curves will hold its grand opening at its new facility on Nov. 28. The center is located at 336 Douglas Ave.
To celebrate the location's grand opening, the center will be offering a 66 percent discount to the first 100 guests that day.
