One person was killed and another injured in an accident on County Road 49, north of Brewton, Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at approximated 9:10 p.m.
According to the Alabama State Troopers, Dale Ralph Ivey, 26, of Brewton, was killed when the 1991 Ford Festiva he was driving north on Appleton Road, ran head-on into a 2001 Ford F-150 driven by Rebecca Kent West, 32, of Castleberry. West was traveling south on Appleton Road, about four miles north of Brewton.
According to a family friend of the Ivey family, it was raining very hard and it is believed that someone was turning in front of Ivey when he swerved out to go around that vehicle and met West head-on.
