A. D. Johnson of the McCall community has been named chairman of the Escambia County Board of Education, replacing Raymond Beasley.
Escambia County commissioners Monday approved depository banks for county funds and examined the government's combined statement of revenues and expenditures for the 1980 fiscal year that ended Sept. 30.
Escambia County is joining this week with other communities across the nation in celebrating Farmer City Week.
Teresa Sue Graves, a senior at W.S. Neal High School, was crowned Escambia County Junior Miss of 1981.
Discussion of a future promotion policy, plans for an energy-saving experiment at Brewton Middle School and consideration of the feasibility of purchasing a diesel school bus highlighted the Nov. 19 meeting of the Brewton City Board of Education meeting.
