Both the W.S. Neal Blue Eagles and Lady Blue Eagles basketball teams have drawn first-round matchups against Florala in the upcoming Florala Christmas Tournament, which will be played December 19-22.
On the girls side, W.S. Neal and Florala hook up December 19 at 6 p.m. The other three first-round games will also be played that day. Opp and Kinston open the tournament at 9 a.m. followed by the Pleasant Home-New Brockton game at 12 noon. Straughn and Samson complete the list of first-round games with a 3 p.m. tilt.
If W.S. Neal wins, it will play the Straughn-Samson winner December 20 at 6 p.m. A loss sends W.S. Neal to the consolation bracket where it meets the Straughn-Samson loser at 12 noon.
The tournament concludes December 22 with the seventh place game at 9 a.m., the consolation championship at 12 noon, the third place game at 3 p.m. and the championship at 6 p.m.
The boys tournament features identical first-round pairings. W.S. Neal and Florala meet in the opening round December 19 at 7:30 p.m.
The other first-round games, which will also be played December 19, feature Opp and Kinston at 10:30 a.m., Pleasant Home and New Brockton at 1:30 p.m. and Straughn against Samson at 4:30 p.m.
If the Blue Eagles prevail in the first round, they will take on the Straughn-Samson winner December 20 at 7:30 p.m. A loss would send W.S. Neal to the consolation bracket where it will play the Straughn-Samson loser December 20 at 1:30 p.m.

The T.R. Miller Quarterback Club is selling plaques for display in the T.R. Miller Fieldhouse. The plaques can honor both cheerleaders and players of all sports.
The plaques, which are six by 12 inches in size, cost $25.
Information needed for the plaque is the athlete's name, position, years played and jersey number (if applicable).

The starting time for Brewton Middle School's home game against W.S. Neal on December 12 has been moved up an hour to 4 p.m. for the girls game followed by the boys game at 5 p.m.
