Mr. Clyde Newberry, 76, died Dec. 10, 2005, at an Evergreen health facility. He was a native of Quitman, Miss., and a resident of Evergreen. He was a forester/timber dealer founder of Webb Timber Company in 1963. He was an active member of Evergreen Baptist Church since 1959, serving as deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir member. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judith Webb of Evergreen; his sons, Ray (Robin) Webb of Douglasville, Ga. and Mike (Terri) Webb of Evergreen; a daughter, Genie (Owen) Bailey of Fairhope; a brother, Joe (Peggy) Webb of Tallahassee, Fla.; a sister, Willie Gene (Claiborne) Traweek of Quitman, Miss.; a sister-in-law, Jane Webb of Bartlesville, Okla. and grandchildren, Katie Webb, Allison Webb, Elizabeth Ann Webb, Willy Webb, Emily Webb, Anna Bailey, Sam Bailey and Charlie Bailey.
Funeral services were held Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church with Dr. Royce DuBose and the Rev. Jack Williamson officiating. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Evergreen with Cope Funeral Home directing.
