Mr. James Preston Davis, 87, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, in a local hospital. He was a native of Monroe County and had lived most of his life in the Brewton area. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Brewton.
He is survived by a brother, Nick Davis of Jay, Fla.; two sisters, Nettie Olline Hardee of Castleberry, and Emma Jane Graham of Pensacola, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 22, at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with the Rev. Bryan Garrett officiating. Burial followed at Zion Hill Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Johnny Blackmon, Earl Davis,
Clayton Davis, Larry Davis, John Pate and Foy Ray. Honorary pallbearers were Phillip Blackmon and Jason Blackmon.
