Mrs. Verlie Evelyn Moye, 89, of Flomaton, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, in a Brewton nursing facility. She was a native and life long resident of the Flomaton area. She taught school at McCall School for three years during World War II. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club and Catawba Springs Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Moye and a son, Jack Moye.
She is survived by a son, Jim Moye of Samson; two daughters, Margaret Long of Flomaton and Evelyn Adams of Newnan, Ga.; a sister, Nadine Martin of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m. at Catawba Springs Baptist Church with Speaker John Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Springs Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Ray Moye, Billy Moye, John David Long, Scott Jackson, John Jackson and James Jackson. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, 3322 South Memorial Parkway, Suite 216, Huntsville, Ala. 35801.
