Looking Back… 25 years

W.H. (Slim) Horton of Brewton was the recipient of a district award of merit, the highest award given on the district level, for outstanding service to scouts in the Alabama-Florida district during the annual appreciation banquet. The award was presented by scoutmaster Billy Howell of Brewton.
The county board of education has set a Feb. 3 deadline for aplications for superintendent of education, a post being vacated by Harry Weaver.
Cub Scouts visiting the Thomas E. McMillan Memorial Museum recently included Shawn Jones, James Fleming, Brian Murph, Stephen Brown, Cliff Garrick Wade Hartley, and Chad Hartley.
Ron Moody, an 11th grader at T.R. Miller High School, has been selected Brewton Rotary Club's &#8220Rotary student of the month” for January.
Elisa Marie Bradley, 2, and Karen Elisa Rojas-Lara, 4, were honored by their mothers with a joint birthday party recently. The party carried a &#8220Mary Had a Little Lamb” theme.
Keith Pugh, former University of Alabama football player, will be the special guest when Cedar Hill Baptist Church observes Men's Day this Sunday.
