While the W.S. Neal Lady Blue Eagles have had some big individual games from Tierra Andrews lately, they have not had a lot to show for it in the win column.
While Andrews was held in check Monday, it was team balance that carried W.S. Neal to a 39-21 road win over the Georgiana Lady Panthers.
The Lady Blue Eagles, who needed overtime to squeak by Georgiana by a mere point in their first encounter at East Brewton, led Monday's rematch from start to finish although it was not until the second half when the Lady Blue Eagles started to pull away.
Tiara Matthews had five of W.S. Neal's seven points in the opening quarter when the Lady Blue Eagles took a 7-6 lead.
In the second quarter, it was two big three-pointers by Shekinah Adams that helped W.S. Neal increase its lead to 18-12 at halftime.
Adams also had a couple of key buckets in the third quarter and Matthews also had a big hoop, as an 11-4 run by W.S. Neal put it in firm control with a 29-16 lead.
Adams led the Lady Blue Eagles with 12 points, while Matthews had 11. Matthews and Jessica Smith each had a team high six rebounds.
W.S. Neal, which hosted Pleasant Home Tuesday, closes out the regular season Friday at Flomaton.
