Forget about it being the best perimeter game the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawks have had this season.
The Warhawks hit a staggering 79 percent from three-point land (11-for-14), as they snapped a four-game slide with an 82-65 road win at Wallace State-Selma Thursday.
JDCC (8-13 overall and 4-6 in the Alabama Community College Conference south division) hit seven of those treys in the second half when the Warhawks pulled away for the win.
Eleven points by Arthur Richardson and 10 from Jairus Jackson sparked JDCC to a 37-33 lead at halftime, but Wallace State-Selma (1-19 overall and 0-9 in the ACCC south) battled back and tied the game at 50-50 with 12 minutes.
That was when the Warhawks really heated up form behind the arc. Jackson and Richardson both had two three-pointers in the second half, while Kedric Wilson, Micah McKinney and Chad Martin also connected from behind the arc. JDCC ended the game on a 32-15 run.
Richardson wound up with 25 points to lead the Warhawks, while Jackson collected 19 and Wilson had 16.
JDCC, which hosted Faulkner State in a key ACCC south game Saturday, is also home Monday when it entertains Marion Military Institute at 7 p.m.
