With so many people in the area donating to causes like hurricane relief, tsunami relief and other special relief efforts, the last thing on many minds is to contribute even more of their hard-earned money. With Relay for Life quickly approaching, you may hear many people throughout the community asking for a donation to the American Cancer Society. Try to save a little bit more money and help this worthy cause.
Last year, the American Cancer Society contributed more than $130 million to cancer research, making the American Cancer Society the leading private, not-for-profit source of cancer research funds.
By joining the Relay for Life efforts this March, your donation will help the American Cancer Society provide hope to those living with cancer, make progress in cancer research and provide answers about the disease.
It was stated this year that cancer death rates have decreased for the first time in 70 years. Research has also dramatically increased the cure rate for most childhood leukemias to more than 80 percent.
Join the Relay for Life efforts on March 18 at the Brewton YMCA and help make a difference in saving a life .
