Mary Belle Koon Findley

Mrs. Mary Belle Koon Findley, 89, of Pineview Street, died Saturday, March 25, 2006, at a local hospital after an extended illness. She was a former resident of the Damascus community and was a retired bookkeeper. She was a member of the East Brewton Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Hillary W. &#8220Bud” Findley; her son, James &#8220Jimmy” Findley II and her daughter, Nancy Rebecca Findley.
She is survived by a daughter, Earida (Hoyle) Karr of Port St. Joe, Fla.; four granddaughters, Nancy (David) Ward of Charleston, S.C., LeAnne (Steve) Blackman and Hillary Findley, both of Brewton, and Angela (Richie) Lawson of Andalusia; four great granddaughters; a special niece, Sharon Bryars of Port St. Joe and two nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, 2 p.m. at Damascus Baptist Church with the Rev. Bert Bounds officiating. Burial followed at Damascus Cemetery at Douglas Chapel with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Wesley Findley, Rusty Cunningham, Shane Blackman, Rance Blackman, Mike Stone and Mark Stone. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Blackman, Mack Stone and Willie Southwell.
