Elliot D. &#8220Dick” Weaver announced this week that he is running as a candidate for House District 64.
The district covers parts of Baldwin, Conecuh, Escambia and Monroe counties.
Weaver is a retired educator. He taught at Reid State Technical College for nine years and at Atmore Vocational Center for eight years.
Weaver said that he is looking forward to bringing his message to voters. &#8220If elected, I will serve as a strong voice for working families,” he said.
Weaver said that he knows how important economic development and jobs are to the area, and there are several components in making this area attractive to businesses and the jobs they bring.
Weaver believes there is no reason the area cannot enjoy a good economy and have the outlook for a steady economic growth.
Weaver said if he is elected he will be a servant of the people.
