A large crowd gathered Monday and Tuesday for the first of week-long Holy Week services at area churches.
During the Holy Week services, pastors from five churches switch places to preach at each other's churches.
The Rev. Jack Fitts, pastor of First Baptist Church, spoke Monday at St. Maurice about the passage from the Gospel of Mark that depicts Mary anointing the feet of Jesus.
On Tuesday, Cook spoke at First United Methodist Church, reflecting on God as the &#8220light of the world.”
Several people attending the services Monday and Tuesday said the crowd seemed larger than last year's.
Holy Week services continue today with the Rev. John Mathieu at St. Stephens Episcopal Church.
Thursday's service features the Rev. Dr. Ed Glaize at First Baptist Church, and the Rev. Gary Baldwin will speak Friday at First Presbyterian Church.
The public is invited to attend all of the services.
