Mrs. Amy Jo Pirkle Morgan, 49, of Sowell Road, died Thursday, May 4, 2006, after an extended illness. She was a native of Montgomery and a resident of Brewton for the past 27 years. She was a Title 1 teacher at Brewton Elementary School with 15 years of service. She was a member of Brewton First Baptist Church and AEA.
She is survived by her mother, Jane Miller Pirkle of Montgomery; her husband, John T. Morgan of Brewton; three daughters, Jamye Morgan of Auburn and Rachel Morgan and Meredith Morgan, both of Brewton; one brother, James Roy Pirkle Jr. of Montgomery; two sisters, Nancy Carr of Marietta, Ga. and Madlyn Meadows of Birmingham and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6, at 2 p.m. at Brewton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Fitts and the Rev. Ron Headley officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Flowers are accepted or contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice.
