Charles R. Stone was among 16 students initiated Monday in the Auburn chapter of Gamma Sigma Delta national honor society of agriculture.
Earnings for Container Corporation of America showed an increase of nearly $2,000,000 for the first three months of 1956, as compared with the same period in 1955.
A proposal to put Brewton on daylight time is being discussed with merchants this week. The City Council would have to approve the time-shift which generally is made over a designated weekend.
Premium saltine crackers were selling for 25 cents a pound, three tall cans of milk were selling for 39 cents, a one-pound can of Maxwell House coffee was selling for 89 cents.
It was reported that dairy cows literally dry up when the weather gets too hot.
