Mr. Joseph Thomas Wells, 83, died Thursday, May 4, 2006 in Jay, Fla. He was a native of Andalusia and a longtime resident of the Century community. He was a self-employed truck driver and a faithful member of Gospel of Light Temple. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia McCurdy Wells.
He is survived by two daughters, Anice (Shorty) Bell of Flomaton, and Anita (Douglas) Gatwood of Brewton; a sister Nina Odom of Pensacola, Fla.; six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6, at 1 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wallace Reid officiating. Burial followed at McCurdy Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were D.C. Odom, Michael Grant, Jeff Nolin, David Odom, Billy Cox and Tom Garrett.
