Brewton library to host author Annie Crenshaw

Brewton Public Library will host Annie Crenshaw, author of several books, including &#8220Mama's in the Kitchen: Historical Southern Traditions in Food,” on Wednesday, May 17.
Crenshaw is a member of the Alabama Humanities Foundation speakers bureau and the author of &#8220Southern Traditions: Recipes and Reminiscences from Seven Generations of the Crenshaw Family” as well as many periodicals on southern history and lifestyle.
She is a native of Butler County, and Crenshaw County was named for her ancestor, pioneer Jude Anderson Crenshaw. She was educated at Birmingham-Southern College and Auburn University at Montgomery and has a bachelor's degree in anthropology and sociology.
She is a lecturer, artist, genealogist, author, tour guide and heirloom gardener.
