All the hard work and studying finally paid off for high school seniors this year. W.S. Neal High School announced its valedictorian and salutatorian for the 2005-2006 school year.

King, daughter of Renee Nelson, said her favorite teacher was Mrs. Knowles, her hardest course was honors economics and her future plans are to attend Jefferson Davis Community College and later attend the University of Alabama in Birmingham to study medicine.
King received several special honors, which allowed her to attend Alabama Girls State, be named UCA All-Star cheerleader and attend the Southern Pine Washington, D.C., youth tour.
She was involved in many activities throughout her high school career, including Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, Neal Eagle Ambassador, Student Council, Co-Captain for the Varsity Cheerleading team, was recognized as Who's Who Among American High School Students and will be a JDCC cheerleader next year.
King offers some solid advice for the incoming freshmen.
