Flomaton honors top graduates

Flomaton High School released the names of its 2005-2006 valedictorian and salutatorian this week.
Earning a 4.000 GPA, Mike Wedgeworth, son of Mike and Nancy Wedgeworth was named the valedictorian.
Wedgeworth was involved in baseball and football and received several honors throughout his high school career, including Beta University, Academic All-Star, Channel 3 Scholar Athlete of the Week, Student Council and Baseball Offensive Award.
His favorite teacher was Mrs. Turner, and surprisingly, Wedgeworth said none of his courses was difficult.
He plans to attend the University of South Alabama and will continue to run his signs and graphics business.
Wedgeworth advises incoming freshmen to &#8220stay awake.”
Earning a 3.97 GPA, Justin Johnson, son of Tony and Donna Johnson, was named the salutatorian.
Johnson received an honors diploma and was named Student of the Year.
Johnson was on the drumline at FHS and enjoys playing in his hardcore Christian band.
Mr. Hammond was his favorite teacher, and English was his hardest course.
Johnson said he plans to attend Auburn University and major in mechanical engineering.
