A new park is being built in Alco by the Junior Chamber of Commerce, and members are seeking a na me for it.
A scholarship award of #100 has been made to Patsy Harrison, senior at W.S. Neal High School, by the East Brewton Civitan Club.
A light vote of about 4,500 and not more than 5,000 is anticipated in the county Democratic primary, since only one local race is involved.
Mayor C.C. Fountain is seeking re-election to his fifth term as the city's chief executive officer. He is oopposed by P.T. May, local wholesale grocer and chairman of the City Water Board.
Brewton's National Guard Armory will be dedicated as Fort Don Bryant in ceremonies here on Sunday.
Work started this week on the major structural contract of the new paper mill being built here by Container Corporation of America.
