Friday is deadline for voter registration

Alabama residents have until Friday to register to vote for the June primary.
Voter registration closes 10 business days before an election in Alabama. If you want to register and vote in the June 6 primary, you must mail or hand-deliver your voter registration application by Friday to the Registrars' Office in Escambia County.
If you have moved to a new county, you must re-register in that county.
If you have changed your name or your address, please notify your county's Voter Registrars and complete an update form immediately.
The last day to apply for an absentee ballot for the June 6th Primary Election is June 1, 2006. Get your application for an absentee ballot from the Secretary of State website www.sos.alabama.gov or request an application from your Circuit Clerk/ Absentee Election Manager.
After casting your absentee ballot, the ballot must be postmarked no later than the day prior to the election which is June 5, 2006 for the Primary Election.
You may hand deliver your absentee ballot by the close of business on the day prior to the election.
