This was a report that a fifth grade student wrote regarding the DARE program recently completed at W.S. Neal Middle School.
Have you ever took the time to think about what drugs could do to you or what you can do when they come your way? Well, all you have to do is remember DARE along the way. They will help you make good choices to keep you away from drugs.
Many people wonder what drugs are like but not what they have in them or what they could do to you. The main thing, drugs could do is kill you or lead you down a path you don't want to take.
Like marijuana for example; it can cause lung cancer and it is illegal and can get you arrested. Many people try to pressure kids into doing drugs but if they just remember to define the problem, decide what choices like saying no and decide if they made the right choice, they won't have a problem.
Drugs can also keep people from following their dream because they can cause problems in your brain and many more complications.
So don't forget to Define, Assess, Respond and Evaluate (DARE); four words that will help you when drugs come your way. The pledge statement is; I have made up my mind to make wise decisions about drugs and to live a healthy drug free life.
