Mr. Jasper Harvey &#8220Spider” Johnson, 77, died Thursday, May 25, 2006 in a Pensacola, Fla. Hospice facility after an extended illness. He was a native of Brewton and a life-long resident of Century. He was a retired lab technician with Champion Paper Company with 37 and one half years of service and a member of the Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife, Margie White Johnson of Century; two sons, Wayne (Marie) Johnson of Baker, Fla. and Gary (Polly) Johnson of Byrneville, Fla.; two brothers, Melvin (Emily) Johnson and Michael (Darlene) Johnson, both of Jay, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Heath) Wilson of Castleberry, Jessie (Kevin) Dixon of Jay, Denise (Shannon) Palmer of Milton, Fla. and Pam (Julian) Perez of Holt, Fla.; eight great grandchildren, two special nieces, Donna Jernigan of Cantonment, Fla. and Karen Cash of Flomaton, and many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held today, May 28, at 3 p.m. at Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church in Byrneville with the Rev. Shelton Kindig and the Rev. Ray Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be David Johnson, Tim Gillman, Burt Johnson, Jason Hart, Bennie Jernigan and Jimmy Cash.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Beulah Chapel Church and his great grandsons.
