Brothers expand restaurant to Brewton
The choice of restaurants downtown could soon be more varied.
Wayne and Mike Scott, brothers from Crestview, Fla., have leased a building on Belleville Avenue for the new Azteca Mexican restaurant, building owner Joe Gordy said.
The new restaurant takes the place of the former Down South restaurant.
The Scotts said their restaurant will open in the next few weeks and will feature Mexican food with some American dishes.
This is not the Scotts' first restaurant. They also own another Azteca in Crestview.
Wayne Scott has been dealing with food service for many years in the military and will bring his expertise to the new business. His daughter, Melissa Scott, will be the manager of the new business.
Why Brewton?
The exact opening date has not been decided, but the former Down South restaurant was already set up for serving food.
Downtown Brewton recently saw the reopening of Willie's restaurant, and another family has bought the old Robbins and McGowin building and plan to open a family-style restaurant there.
