The Auburn University School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences announced this week that Rigby McMillan of Brewton was recently selected winner of the Charles and Thelma Dixon Annual Scholarship.
Auburn University Forestry faculty described McMillan as “an excellent student” and very deserving of the prestigious scholarship.
The scholarship is awarded each year by faculty members to a junior who demonstrates the strongest leadership skills combined with quality academic performance. McMillan is a graduate of T.R. Miller High School and currently maintains a 3.0 grade point average at Auburn.
McMillan is a member of Xi Sigma Pi, the honor fraternity for the School of Forestry and was awarded the Society of American Foresters Leadership Award for the Southeast in April.
