Mr. Albert H. Odom, 87, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at his residence. He was a native of Pollard, a former resident of Monticello, Fla. and Brewton before moving to Brinson in 2000. He was the county agricultural agent in Escambia County, Fla. and Jefferson County, Ga. and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion and the Monticello Kiwanis Club. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Weaver Odom, and a son, David Allen Odom.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Maxwell Odom of Brinson; four children, Carole Odom Johnston and Linda M. (Jim) McCann, both of Bainbridge, Ga., Martha Odom Caldwell of Atlanta, and Ricky (Donna) Maxwell of Buena Vista, Ga.; 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Thursday, June 8, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Monticello, Fla. with the Rev. David Hodges officiating. Burial followed at Roseland in Monticello with Ivey Funeral Home of Bainbridge directing.
