Two years ago they helped Flomaton win the Class 2A state championship. This past season they helped the Lady Hurricanes reach the Class 2A state semifinals.
The success their teams enjoyed is a big reason why Jefferson Davis Community College softball coach Misti Nims has inked Flomaton players Tiffany Cayson,
Jodi Lisenby and Jenna White.
Cayson is expected to contend for the Lady Warhawks shortstop position.
Lisenby and White made up two-thirds of the Lady Hurricanes outfield.
In addition to Lisenby and White, JDCC has also added another outfielder to its recruiting class with the signing of Geneva County's Brittany Bradshaw.
The Lady Warhawks have also signed Sparta Academy righthanded pitcher/first baseman Nicole Gilbert.
JDCC has now signed 11 players for the 2007 season. In addition to their five latest signings, the Lady Warhawks have also picked up T.R. Miller catcher Terri Lynne Peacock and third baseman Catherine Layton, second baseman Chastity Nicholson of Childersburg, outfielder/catcher Amanda Pullen of Sneads (Fla.), first baseman/third baseman Angela Thomas of West Florida Tech and catcher/first baseman Kerri Ivy of Thorsby.
Nims has also just about completed her 2006 JDCC volleyball recruiting class.
The latest additions are Lindi Thompson, a 5-10 middle hitter from Shelby County, and Jacklyn Seay, a 5-4 defensive specialist from Pace (Fla.).
JDCC has signed six players for next season. The other additions are outside hitter Amanda Pullen of Sneads (Fla.), outside hitter Kathrine Phillips of Baker (Fla.), setter Megan Petrie of Milton (Fla.) and outside hitter Julie Brown of Hamilton.
