Brewton's first Alabama Blueberry Festival gets under way today and continues through Saturday with a host of activities scheduled in conjunction with the three-day event saluting the area's blueberry industry.
A new law effective this month that grants sheriff deputies overtime pay or compensatory leave will cost the county an additional $100,000 to $150,000 annually.
Mrs. Carolyn Curtright has been named coordinator of the Community Education Program.
Jefferson Davis State Junior College has been awarded a federal grant for $389,256.
