Mrs. Mary Nell Jackson Young, 78, died June 7, 2006, at a Pensacola hospital. She was a native of Opp, a former resident of Brewton and a resident of Pensacola. She had worked at Montgomery Ward for 21 years and at WEBJ while she lived in Brewton. She was also a member of Brewton Country Club and Brewton Church of Christ while residing in Brewton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Young, her parents, Joel R.D. and Pearl Jowers Jackson, her brothers, O.D. Jackson, Joel Franklin Jackson, Daniel Cleveland Jackson and her sisters, Marlene Jackson Gatlin and Myrtle Faye Jackson.
She is survived by her daughters, Vivian Dianne Young Henderson of Daphne and Cheryl Ann Young of Pensacola; her son, B. Richard Young; her sister, Marion Joyce Hayes of Pensacola; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 12, at 9:30 a.m. at Waters and Hibbert Funeral Home. Burial followed at 11 a.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery with Waters and Hibbert Funeral Home directing.
