The Rev. James A. Wilson, 100, died Friday, July 7, 2006, at a local hospital. He was a native of McCullough and had been a member of the Byrneville community for 70 years coming from Atmore. He was a member of Poplar Dell Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Bertie Stuckey Wilson.
He is survived by his daughters, Nettie (Sterlon) Scott of Flomaton and Marilyn Hayes of Brewton; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 8, at 3 p.m. at Poplar Dell Baptist Church with the Rev. Mitch Herring, the Rev. Michael King and the Rev. Jesse Wood officiating. Burial followed at Byrneville United Methodist Church Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home. Pallbearers were George Chavers, Thomas Adams, Carl Gandy, Tommy Stuckey, Austin Henderson, Alex Henderson, Troy Graham and Brian Beckham.
