Mrs. Ruby Lee Crawford Raines, 79, died Friday, June 30, 2006, in Flomaton. She was a native of Monroe County and a longtime resident of Atmore. She was retired from Vanity Fair in Atmore where she worked as a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph Malery Raines and a son, Walter Hubert Raines II.
She is survived by three sons, Jesse H. (Rebecca) Raines of Uriah, Joseph C. (Cindy) Raines of Atmore, and Jimmy L. (Susan) Raines of Flomaton; a daughter, Barbara (Charles &#8220Skip”) Beasley of Castleberry; three sisters, Eleanor (John) Josey of Frisco City, Teenie Fails and Bessie (W.F. &#8220Bud”) Brantley, both of Atmore; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 3, at 10 a.m. at the Flomaton Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. C.L. Langford officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were David Harding, Brian Raines, Ethan Raines, Joseph Raines, Jeremy Raines and Michael Beasley.
