Mr. C. Lavon Smith Sr., 66, died Thursday, July 6, 2006. He was a native of Brewton and a construction superintendent. He was preceded in death by his parents, Monk and Addie Mae Smith; and his brothers, James Smith and Floyd Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Anna Mae Smith; one son, Larry (Melissa) Smith; a daughter, Cindy Nall; a stepson, Kevin (Sandra) Schwartz; a sister, Jeanette (John) Barnett; a sister-in-law, Jane Smith; grandsons, Jason Nall, Dustin Smith and Tyler Smith; stepgrandsons, Cole, Aaron and Eli Schwartz and a special child sponsored through World Vision, Lai Chorng Leang of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 9, at 7 p.m. at Donnie Sowell Funeral Home with John Young officiating and Donnie Sowell directing. Pallbearers will be Mike Turner, Burton Turner, Brett Gafford, Eddie Turner, Paul Howell and Rusty Barnes.
