Tina Findley is glad the city of Brewton is finally looking to pass a ban on smoking in some local workplaces.
But Willie's restaurant manager Elisha Nolen believes the proposed ordinance is unfair.
Brewton city council members could consider the proposed ordinance as soon as their next meeting Aug. 8.
The smoking ordinance calls for a ban on smoking in restaurants that serve patrons under 19 and in several public facilities such as schools and government buildings, health care facilities and retail and service facilities.
Under the ordinance, food and beverage establishments would have to decide to be identified as one of the following:
