Knee deep.
That's how deep some people are into their hobbies. Just ask Glen Freeman's wife.
Glen Freeman, who is a member of the Panhandle Cruisers car club, enjoys his hobby of buying, building, selling and driving street rod cars.
The hobby enjoyed by the couple includes car shows all across southeast Alabama and northwest Florida, Freeman said. “We have carried our cars to shows in Crestview, Andalusia, Silverhill, Florala, Lillian, Seminole, and DeFuniak Springs,” Freeman said. “We love the shows. It's similar to a family reunion when we get to see all of the friends we've made along the way.”
Last September, Freeman, along with two other car enthusiasts, put together a show for the Brewton area.
The Brewton show will hopefully become an annual event, Freeman said.
Not only did the Lion's Club raise some funds for the club through their concessions, the car club made a monetary donation following the show.
A similar event is planned for some time in September to again benefit the Brewton Lion's Club Freeman said.
The hobby does take quiet a bit of time and money Freeman said.
Freeman currently owns three cars. He has sold one of them and is in the process of acquiring another.
