Cooper makes Birmingham Top 12
W.S. Neal Blue Eagles senior offensive linemen Jared received his biggest preseason accolade to date when he was chosen to the Birmingham News Elite 12.
Earlier Cooper was one of a dozen players who received Best of the Rest status in the Mobile Press-Register's Elite 18.
The 6-4, 280-pound Cooper has received nine Division I offers so far.

B team schedules
T.R. Miller has a seven-game slate, while W.S. Neal has a six-game schedule for B Team football competition this fall.
T.R. Miller opens its B Team slate with a Sept. 5 trip to Monroe County. The Tigers will make their home debut Sept. 18 against Escambia County.
W.S. Neal will kick off its season Sept. 11 at home against T.R. Miller. The Tigers and Blue Eagles will have a rematch Oct. 2 at Brewton Municipal Stadium.
All games for both teams are tentatively scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. The complete schedule is as follows.

Lady Warhawks get tournament pairings
The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks volleyball team has been paired up with Central Alabama, Bevill State and Gadsden State in its season-opening tournament at Southern Union on Aug. 25.
JDCC begins play at 10:30 a.m. against Central Alabama. The Lady Warkawks will take on Bevill State at 1:30 p.m. and Gadsden State at 3 p.m.
Teams in the other pool include Southern Union, Lawson State, Wallace State-Hanceville and Faulkner State.
The two pool champions will play later that day for the tournament championship.
The tournament is almost like an Alabama Community College Conference Tournament. The only ACCC team not in the tournament is Northwest Shoals.
JDCC's home debut is Aug. 29 against Faulkner State.
BYFL registration,
practice starts Monday
Brewton Youth Football League will be holding pre-registration and its first practice Monday at 5 p.m. at O'Bannon Park.
Children age 6 through age 13 are eligible to play.
The league will not be accepting any more cheerleaders for the upcoming season, as that roster has been completed.

Meet the Lady Tigers Night set for Aug. 22
The T.R. Miller Lady Tigers volleyball team will give a sneak preview of the upcoming season when they hold &#8220Meet The Lady Tigers Night” Aug. 22 at the T.R. Miller Gymnasium at 6:30 p.m.
The Lady Tigers will play a scrimmage tune-up for the Aug. 24 home and season opener against Monroe County.
