This week could be the most important week of the summer for the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers volleyball team.
Coach Sharon Peacock hopes to decide by the end of this week's Team Camp who will fill out her starting six.
The summer work done so far by the Lady Tigers has pleased Peacock for the most part.
T.R. Miller lost six players from last season's squad that went 21-12. Five of those players were starters. Not only is middle hitter Shandreka Foster the only returning starter from that team, she is also the only senior.
Just how well the Lady Tigers' offense clicks probably depends on how well they replace last year's departed setter duo of Emily Layton and Terri Lynne Peacock.
Kennedy is not the only Lady Tiger newcomer who may make a quick contribution. Junior Brittany Watson was lured into the program last winter and should contend for a hitting slot.
This week's summer camp will begin Monday and run through Thursday.
Official practice for Alabama High School Athletic Association teams gets underway next week.
