A rash of wrecks on Sunday have left several people injured according to reports from the Alabama Highway Patrol's office in Evergreen.
The first accident occurred on Sunday morning just before 7 a.m. on Alabama 41 near the 5-mile marker, when one vehicle crashed, troopers said. The incident occurred near what is known as Ashton's Ponds.
A 2005 Nissan driven by Amanda Barnes of Brewton left the roadway and crashed, causing the driver and passenger, Tyler Barnes, to be injured. Both vehicle occupants were transported to D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Witnesses said Barnes collided with a portion of the bridge in that accident.
A second accident occurred on Alabama 41 at the intersection of Thomas Road.
The two-vehicle accident was reported at 9:25 a.m. when a 1992 Jeep driven by Michael Cobb of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., collided with a 2002 Mitsubishi driven by Pamela Hart of Brewton.
Two passengers with Cobb, Michelle Cobb and Jonathan Cobb also of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., were also injured.
One passenger with Hart, Amy Hart, was injured in the accident. All were taken to D.W. McMillan to receive treatment.
Witnesses at the scene indicated that Cobb's vehicle had crossed the centerline and subsequently collided with the vehicle driven by Hart. Hart's vehicle left the roadway and rolled down an embankment causing major damage to the vehicle.
Amy Hart was treated and released at McMillan while Pamela Hart was kept overnight for observation. Cobb was transferred to a Pensacola, Fla., hospital for further treatment, according to witnesses.
At 2:45 p.m. on Sunday a one-vehicle accident was reported on Pea Ridge Road. The driver of the 1998 Chevrolet vehicle was Jeffrey Evans of Brewton. He was transported to D.W. McMillan Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.
A fourth accident on Sunday was reported at 9:40 p.m. on Appleton Road.
The one-vehicle accident involved Jacob Pearson, who was driving a 2003 Dodge vehicle. He was transported to D.W. McMillan Hospital for treatment.
Victims' conditions are not made readily available due to the patient information privacy act enacted in recent years.
Patrolman Wes Davis responded to the three accidents on Alabama 41 while Patrolman Lott responded to the accident on Appleton Road.
