Mrs. Judy Taylor Stephens, 59, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, in a Greenville hospital. She was a native and long time resident of Brewton before moving to Mississippi 10 years ago. She was a registered nurse and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nellie and Jack Lucas; her mother, Mary Louise Jenkins; her father, Frank Fuqua; two brothers, Leo Jeffords III, Mike Jeffords and a son, Lefty Taylor.
She is survived by her husband, John Stephens of Hollandale, Miss.; two sons, Shannon Thornton of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Jesse (Crystal) Taylor IV of Jacksonville, Ark.; two daughters, Sherri (Jeffrey) Cooper of Brewton, and Sara (Rodney) Devers of Castleberry; four sisters, Linda Fuqua Wright of Montgomery, Wanda Fuqua Allen of Lakeland, Fla., Kim Arnold of Pascagoula, Miss. and Kelley Duncan of San Antonio, Texas; three brothers, Jeff Ryder of San Antonio, Timothy Harrison of Silver Hill and Pat Jeffords of Robertsdale; six grandchildren, Kyle Cooper, Jared Cooper, Taylor Devers, Sarahann Devers, Luke Thornton and Savannah Taylor and a special friend, Wanda Mosley.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 25, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home. Burial followed at the Ridge Road Baptist Church Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
