Mr. Alex Roach Jr., 59, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2006. He had been a mechanic and worked in the logging business. He was an active member of Sparta Hill United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillie Mae Danzy and Juanita Roach.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Roach; two daughters, Jennifer McKant and Michelle Travis, both of Brewton; five sons, Alexander Booker of Dallas, Texas, SPC. Christopher Travis of Syracuse, N.Y., Kenneth Wayne Booker, John David Booker and Michael Travis, all of Brewton; a brother, Guy (Bobby J.) Roach of Evergreen; three sisters, Deloris Ann Roach and Gayle Hudley, both of Brewton and Pamela (Gerald) Violet of Bridgeport, Conn.; two step-children, Stacey Smith of Atlanta and Willie (Kiwanda) Smith of Montgomery; four aunts; one uncle; eight grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m. at Second Saint Siloam Baptist Church with the Rev. George Davis officiating. Burial followed at Baptist Hill Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
