As anticipated, Creek Entertainment Center began serving alcohol to its patrons beginning at noon Friday.
According to PCI Gaming CFO Arthur Mothershed, the Poarch Band of Creek Indians received both a beer and wine license and a liquor license on Aug. 24 from the State of Alabama. The Tribal Council approved the serving of alcohol at its gaming facility pending state approval during its Aug. 20 regularly scheduled meeting.
Upon receipt of the license, officials with the Poarch Band of Creek Indians issued the license to Creek Entertainment Center.
Mothershed said officials with the Creek Entertainment Center were simply satisfying customers' requests.
Prior to receipt of the license, additional staff members were hired and trained in the event the request was approved.
Mothershed also said the Tribe has adopted a vendor program to assist in responsible consumption of alcohol.
