Starry-eyed bliss is how Steve Yuhasz described his feelings about his new position as Brewton's community development director.
Yuhasz came into the position after Pete Diurno retired from the post in August.
Diurno has made a commitment to the City of Brewton to be a presence at city hall to help with Yuhasz's transition into the position he has vacated.
Diurno has about five months left in is commitment, and Yuhasz is pleased to have the opportunity to learn from a professional.
The position entails many areas of activity. Yuhasz said the position involves working with building and other city codes and ordinance enforcement as well as working with the planning commission and projects of the mayor.
During last Tuesday's city council meeting, Jennings officially introduced Yuhasz as he takes over the position under the leadership of Diurno.
Yuhasz is a graduate of T.R. Miller High School. He received a bachelor's degree in religion and sociology from the University of Mobile and a master of divinity degree at New Orleans Seminary. Following studies and a writing project, Development of Vision, he received a doctorate of ministry degree from the Southern Baptist School of Biblical Studies. He currently serves as pastor for the Belleville Baptist Church in the Belleville Community in Conecuh County.
