The Rev. Elam B. Hollinger, 89, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006. He was a native of East Petersburg, Penn. and a resident of Alabama, Kansas and Pennsylvania. He served as associate pastor and pastor of visitation for 47 years at Congregational Bible Church in Marietta. He also chaired the boards of Lancaster Youth for Christ and Child Evangelism Fellowship of Lancaster County. He was a graduate of Hesston College, Hesston, Kansas and an alumnus of Lancaster Bible College. Bible College. He also served for a time as an officer in the Ezra W. Martin Meat Packing Company. He was preceded in death by a son, James M., two brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gertrude Martin Hollinger; a daughter, Ruth Senter of Lake Forrest, Ill.; three sons, Dennis P., of Camp Hill, Penn., J. Daryl of Lebanon, Penn and Edward B. of Greensboro, N.C.; a brother, Paul B. of Mount Joy, Penn.; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held, Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the Congregational Bible Church of Marietta. Burial followed at Mellinger's Mennonite Cemetery with Smedley Funeral Home directing.
