Mr. David O'Neil &#8220Mike” Allen, 85, of Belleville Avenue, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, in a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native and life long resident of Brewton. He was a member of Brewton First United Methodist Church, U.S. Army Air Corp veteran having served in World War II, former employee of Bank of Brewton with more than 27 years of service, and retired vice president from First Progressive Bank with more than 6 years of service. He was also active in the 40s, 50s and 60s in several civic organizations.
She is survived by his wife, Marion Clews Allen of Brewton; two sons, David (Jean) Allen of Brewton and Tommy (Ann) Allen of Brentwood, Tenn.; one daughter, Mary Beth Shell (Paul Holloway) of Brewton; five grandchildren, David A. Allen, Jennifer Allen Lancaster, Art Allen Jr., Alex Allen and Elizabeth Ann Estes and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held yesterday, Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m. at Brewton First United Methodist Church with Dr. Ed Glaize officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton.
