Homer Hamilton has been dedicated to supporting Sportsman Park - so the city has dedicated the park to him.
Gary Hill presented the dedication plaque to Hamilton at last week's Brewton City Council meeting. The plaque recognizes Hamilton's dedication the park and youth of the community.
Also during Tuesday's meeting, Jim Byrd with the Escambia County Industrial Development Authority approached the council to make a request concerning signage at the Industrial Park.
Byrd suggested the covenants on sign size in the industrial park should be reflective of the ordinance in place for the City of Brewton.
After discussion on the matter, the council approved an amendment to the covenant that would allow signs in the industrial park to comply with the city's sign ordinance.
During the meeting, the council approved a request by the T.R. Miller Band Booster club to hold a carnival for fund raising purposes. The carnival, which will be located in the Winn-Dixie shopping center, will be in operation from Oct. 31 through Nov. 4.
