Mrs. Mary Jane Higdon Ryals, 63, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at a Mobile hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Miami, Fla., and a long time resident of Lenox. She was a retired social worker with the Headstart Program, a member of Hartwood United Methodist Church and of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Manford H. Ryals of Lenox; two sons, Marvin Ryals and Leroy Ryals, both of Lenox; two daughters, Tammy Mitchell of Brewton and Felicia Ryals of Lenox and four grandchildren, Roger Boswell, Harvey Boswell, Ryan Boswell and Brianna Nicole Ryals.
Funeral services were held yesterday, Saturday, Sept. 30, at 11 a.m. at Hartwood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Thomas Smith and the Rev. Bobby Boatwright officiating. Burial followed at Hartwood Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
