Mr. Jesse James Odom, 84, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006 at a Crestview nursing facility after an extended illness. He was a native of Repton and a long-time resident of Barnett's Crossroads before moving to Crestview in 2001. He was a retired aircraft electrician with 30 years of service, was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Mason Local Lodge 779 and Monroeville York Rite Bodies. He was a member of the New Bethlehem Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Thelma Lee Lisenby Odom of Crestview; two sons, Eddie Odom of Brewton and Jack (Sandy) Odom of Century, Fla.; one sister, Ida Mae Morris of Century; seven grandchildren, Jamey, Melissa, Shelia, Justin, Josh, Paige and Mo and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 5, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Brown officiating. Private burial followed at New Bethlehem Cemetery in the Barnett's community with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
