5K Run/Walk to be held at YMCA Oct. 28
The Brewton Area YMCA and Smurfit-Stone are sponsoring a 5K run/walk for health Oct. 28 at 8:30 a.m. at the Brewton Area YMCA.
Registration for the event is $12 per person, $8 for children 12 and under.
Registration will be accepted through Oct. 27. Late registration will be accepted Oct. 28 from 7 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. The late registration fee is $15 person and $10 for children 12 and under.
A water station is available at the halfway point of the race.
Participants will be divided into male and female age divisions of 0-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and older.
Also available is a one-mile fun run/walk. That race will begin approximately 15 minutes after the conclusion of the 5K run/walk. Registration fee for that race is $5 per person.
