October is Alpha Delta Kappa Month.  The local chapter consists of 31 members who are educators from Brewton City Schools, W.S. Neal, and Pollard McCall School, as well as retired educators.
As part of the celebration this month, a small token of appreciation and a motivational message was given to each person on the faculty and staff of all the local public schools.  One of the purposes of ADK is to promote excellence and high standards in teaching, administration and any specialized field of education.
Local projects this year include collecting items for the First United Methodist Church food pantry and donating children's books for the patients of Dr. Marsha Raulerson.  They also contribute to the Birmingham Children's Hospital.
