Sixty years after they met on the gridiron for the first time, members of the W.S. Neal and T.R. Miller football teams of 1946 will gather for a reunion Friday.
The surviving team members will gather at the Brewton Country Club to reminisce Friday afternoon before they head to this year's Battle of Murder Creek between Neal and Miller. The football players and cheerleaders will be recognized during the game.
Langham played for Miller in 1945 and 1947-49, but he wasn't on the 1946 team.
But he said the rivalry has changed little between the two teams since they first met in a charity game designed to raise money for the community's new hospital.
Although the competition was intense, Langham said the players on the 1946 team were always friends, as well.
Football has also changed little, Langham said.
